The East Anglian six a side softball cricket tournament organised by Ipswich Srilankika Ekamuthuwa (ISE) was held for the second consecutive year at Ipswich & E.S Cricket club. Teams from Ipswich, Felixstowe and Colchester were present at this fun filled day and there were about 150 people were present. Party Music and delicious Srilankan food added the excitement and colour to the radiant event.

Proceedings started with the cricket teams being welcomed by the ISE committee and lucky draw for the match fixture. As the matches commenced and progressed a lively crowd of supporters including the friends and families of the players as well as the passersby started to cheer and encourage the teams.

The grand final was set up for the ISE and the Ipswich Lions, respectively captained by Nishantha and Yasir. Two teams were equally matched by their skills, even though the ISE players are much older than Ipswich Lions players, however tight fielding and brilliant bowling spells swung the game in the favour of Ipswich Lions. ISE gave their level best to defend the total of 48 runs, but the organisers only managed to become second. Ipswich Lions became the champions of the 2nd East Anglian Soft Ball Cricket Tournament and the proud owners of the ISE trophy. Chamara from Ipswich Lions was awarded the Best Bowler and the Best Batsman trophies.

Ipswich Srilankika Ekamuthuwa extends gratitude to all the teams who participated and their families and friends as well as Ipswich & E.S Cricket Club for the support and made it a success.
