Sri Lanka Educational, Cultural and Welfare foundation, affiliated to the International Buddhist Centre ( Le Centre Bouddhique International) in Paris, France, has continued their welfare programme of providing scholarships to children from low income families in Sri Lanka.
Beginning of this year they provided scholarships and school supplies to children in Minuwangoda and Mahaoya a remote village in Ampara district.
Head of the Paris International Buddhist Centre Most Ven. Paravahera Chandarathana Nayaka Thera attended both these events.
Ai a simple gathering held at the International Buddhist Centre in Minuwangoda 14 children were offered scholarships and few more medical and engineering students were given financial assistance to continue their studies.
In addition to these under the project that Ven. Chandarathana has initiated a few years back, to encourage forming larger families, like the way it was in the past, families with 5 or more children were given financial assistance. The project is called " Pasawi Daru Diri".
Ven. Balangoda Upashantha Nayaka Thera delivering the Anusaasana described the importance of Ven. Chandarathana's lond standing charitable work and gave a detailed account of the great benefits received by the recipients.
Head of the Minuwangoda International Buddhist Centre Ven. Muruddeniye Sujatha Thera also spoke about the long running charity.
Head of the Biyagama Punyawardhanaaraama Vihara Ven. Koralegama Piyarathana Thera handed over the documents related to the "Pasavi Daru Diri" financial assistance programme to the selected family.
Chandarathana Nayaka Thera wished all the recipients best of luck and asked the children to realise the true potentials of free education available in Sri Lanka and work hard to achieve higher goals that they desire.
The second programme was held at the Mahaoya Purana Vihara in Ampara district. At this occasion 7 children from low income families were given scholarships and a few other university students were given financial assistance.
A family with 6 children also received the financial assistance under the " Pasavi Daru Diri" project.
All the scholarships and financial assistants under these projects will continue until the recipients education is completed.
Sponsored by a business personality from Kandy and an engineer Parakrama Wijemanna all the children were given needy school supplies.
Ven. Balangoda Upashantha thera and Neetha Moragoda worked as the Sri Lanka co-ordinators of these projects. In Mahaoya Piya Eranda helped with the ground work to select the suitable children and families.
ආර්ථික අපහසුතා ඇති සිසුන්ට ශිෂ්යත්ව
ප්‍රංශයේ ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ මධ්‍යස්ථානයට අනුබද්ධිට ශ්‍රී ලංකා අධ්‍යාපන, සංස්කෘතික සහ සුභසාධක සංවිධානය වන "සේක්සා" පදනම විසින් යලිත් වරක් අඩු ආදායම්ලාබී පවුල්වල සිසුන් 28 දෙනෙකු සඳහා ශිෂ්යත්ව ප්‍රධානය කර ඇත.
මෙම වැඩපිළිවෙල යටතේ සිසුන් 14 දෙනෙකුට සහ වෛද්‍ය සහ ඉංජිනේරු සිසුන් සඳහා ශිෂ්යත්ව ප්‍රධානය කිරීමේ පළමු උත්සවය පසුගියදා මිනුවන්ගොඩ ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ මධ්‍යස්තානයේදී පැවැත්විණි.
ඒ සඳහා සහභාගීවූ සිසු දරු දැරියන් වෙනුවෙන් සංවිධානය කෙරුන කෙටි උත්සව සභාවේදී මෙම වැඩසටහනෙහි නිර්මාතෘ ප්‍රංශයේ ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ මධ්‍යස්ථානාධිපති පුජ්‍ය පරවාහැර චන්දරතන හිමියෝ පැමිණසිටි පිරිස වෙත මෙම වැඩසටහනෙහි අරමුණ පැහැදිලි කරදෙමින් ශිෂ්යත්ව ලබාගන්නා දරු දැරියන්ගේ වගකීම් පිළිබඳවද කියාදුන්හ. චන්දරතන හිමියන් විසින් ආරම්භ කර ඇති පස්දෙනෙකු හෝ ඊට වැඩි දරුවන් සිටින පවුල් සඳහා ආධාර සැපයීමේ "පසවී දරුදිරි" අරමුදල පිළිබඳවද උන්වහන්සේ මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වුහ.
උත්සව සභාවේ මුලසුන පුජ්‍ය ශාස්ත්‍රවේදී බලන්ගොඩ උපශාන්ත හිමියන් විසින් හොබවන ලද අතර උන්වහන්සේ විසින්ද පුජ්‍ය චන්දරතන හිමියන් විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ක්‍රියාත්මක කරගෙන යන සමාජ සුභසාධක වැඩ කටයුතු පිළිබඳව අදහස් ප්‍රකාශ කරනු ලැබීය.
මිනුවන්ගොඩ ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ මධ්‍යස්තානාධිකාරී පුජ්‍ය මුරුද්දෙණියේ සුජාත හිමියන් විසින් ස්තුති කතාව පැවැත්වුහ. ඉන් අනතුරුව ශිෂ්යත්ව ලාභී දරුවන්හට අදාළ ලිපි ලේඛන පිරිනමනු ලැබිය.
එම උත්සවය සඳහා වැඩම කළ බියගම පුන්යවර්ධනාරාමාධිපති පුජ්‍ය කෝරළේගම පියරතන හිමියන් අතින් එදින "පසවී දරුදිරි" අරමුදල යටතේ ආධාර ප්‍රධානය කළ පවුල වෙත අදාළ ලිපිගොනු ලබාදෙන ලදී.
ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මෙම සමාජ සුභසාදක වැඩසටහන් සම්බන්ධීකරණය කරන නීතා මොරගොඩ ඇතුළු විශාල පිරිසක් මෙම උත්සවය සඳහා සහභාගීවුහ.
