Siri Gauthama Dhathu wandanaawa at Mahamevnawa Stanmore Branch

The end of the year "Siri Gauthama Dhathu Wandana" programme organised by the Stanmore branch of the Mahamevnawa International Meditation Centre in the UK, was held at the Leavesden Green Community Hub in Watford, on the 31st of December 2015 to bless every one and to well come the New Year.

Resident monks from the Mahamevnawa Stanmore branch conducted the all night programme which started at 6 in the evening and concluded at 6 in the following day morning. The community centre auditorium was decorated beautifully by the young devotees of the centre. A serene statue of the Buddha was placed in the centre of the shrine room with a Silver Casket containing the Relics of the Buddha and a Bo tree placed on both sides. Programme commenced with the devotees bringing in the offerings for the evening Puja in a procession while every one chanting the Gathas. Buddha Vandana and Siri Gauthama Dhathu Wandanaa was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Maha Sangha were offered Gilampasa and all the lay devotees were supplied with the evening meal.

From 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. a Dhamma sermon was delivered followed by a lively Dhamma discussion. From midnight till 1 in the morning of the New Year an Anusasana was given discussing the benefits of the Pariththa Chanting. From 1 till 5 in the morning Pirith Chanting was held. At 5.30 a Kiri Pidu Pujawa, passing of the merits and morning Dhana for the Maha Sangha was held. As the proceedings concluded breakfast for the lay devotees was supplied.

Every one who attended the programme was presented with a Buddha statue, Pirith Pan and Pirith Nul.
