SPRING 2015 MEETING - What an enjoyable golfing weekend that was. Based on various responses - in the form of emails, SMS and voice mail messages - received, SLGS’s twentieth year celebratory spring meeting held at “The Oxfordshire” on 5th & 6th June 2015 had undoubtedly resulted in lots of enjoyment for majority of the participants.

Weather was reasonably kind excepting for a slight breeze on Saturday which made the somewhat challenging Oxfordshire course a little more difficult. Nevertheless judging by the scores, majority of the golfers appear to have handled the task extremely well. As expected the course was in perfect condition, accommodation, food & service excellent and the company – exceptionally good.

Dinner and entertainment on Friday was very good with almost all participating in an impromptu sing-along. Dinner dance on Saturday night was well subscribed and the attendees appear to have enjoyed thoroughly - excellent evening of entertainment with dancing till midnight to quality music provided by the Sri Lannkan band Exceed.

HUGE THANKS to those supported the twentieth year celebratory meeting either by taking part in the golf competition and or attending the gala dinner dance. Sincere apologies to those members who had to be turned down due to the list being full - well ahead of the closing date. Those who could not attend for one reason or another – you did miss a great treat indeed.

Also HUGE THANKS to the all those generous organisations and individuals who helped SLGS to publicise the event in UK Canada, Germany, USA Australia and many other countries, sponsors of golfing items, donors of various gifts, members who donated champagne, wines, spirits, golf shirts, prizes etc; Oxfordshire team for the excellent service, Alan John Printing for the production of a quality souvenir, those members and their wives who worked tirelessly behind the scenes ensuring every aspect of the event proceeded with clockwork precision and with style.
