The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom hosted the Sri Lankan community living in the United Kingdom on 15th December 2017 for a reception at the High Commission in view of the annual Christmas celebrations.
The event occurred amidst a large participation of all Sri Lankan communities living in the UK, the High Commissioner stated that the spirit of Christmas occupies the mind and heart of most people, despite Christmas being a Christian festival.
Rev. Father Alex conducted the opening prayer, while Rev. Father Rajeev conducted prayers in Tamil. Christmas Carols were sung in Sinhala, Tamil and English, followed by traditional Christmas snacks.
