Having raised the levels of expectation ever since the event was held at Wembely Stadium in 2011, the student executive-committee led by co-presidents Nipun Wijegunasekera, 3rd year Civil Engineering and Rebecca Liyanage, 4th year Chemical Engineering addressed the issue by securing as the special guest host, the talent of JehanR, Youtube's sensation.
Adding to a strong line-up of artists which included the vocal styling of Ashanthi de Alwis and the popular band Exceed followed by BBC Radio 1's DJ Nihal and returning DJ Andy P, the sell-out crowd was drawn in by the display of the International Cricket Council Champions League Trophy on the night of the event.
As always Sapphire 2014 promises to be a night not to be missed. Rumour has it the cricketers from the pearl might be in town for the show...
