Janahanda Foundation in the U.K. Celebrated BakMaha Ulela(Sinhala and Tamil New Year splendidly on the first of April in 2018 with the participation of several hundred Sri Lankan community members. Janahanda Foundation hosts this new Year festival every year at an impressive level in order to promote Sri Lankan cultural values among Sri Lankan expatriates living in the London borough Hounslow and its suburbs. The president of Janahanda Foundation in the U.K, Mr Srilal Dias said, " this is the 13th New Year Celebration organised by Janahanda Foundation since its inception,".
In the first phase of the New Year celebration was folklore games. These are traditional games played by children and adults, particularly during new Year Celebration period.This occasion was so impressive and everyone seemed to have enjoyed a lot by watching their children playing traditional games.
The second part which was a cultural show commenced following lightning of inaugural oil lamp by invited guests. This cultural show included mind-boggling performances presented by the students of Neetha Rohini Dance Academy. In addition to that, Indian and Irish dance was also unfolded on the stage.The commentators of Cultural pageant Gayan and Sulochana were able to bring the show into a more vivid description with their vibrant voices.
This event was attended by following distinguished guests.Ms. Seema Malhothra, MP for Feltham and Hounslow. The Deputy Mayor of London borough of Hounslow, Mr Malhothta, Senior Cllr Jugdish Sharma, Cllr Bishnu Gurung and Akhil Bishwas, Lord Sardar Singh. Srilankan acting high commissioner for Britain Mr Sugeeswara Gunarathna.Brother Charles Anthony had been invited to attend this function in a bid to make a speech. The speech he gave was so wonderful and everyone was engaged.
The musical evening started subsequent to the cultural show and New Year's Day came to an end at about 11.30 in the evening.
ජනහඩ පදනම 2018 බක්මහ උළෙල සමරයි.
හවුන්ස්ලෝ ජනහඩ සංවිධානය මගින් වාර්ෂිකව පවත්වනු ලබන බක්මහ උළෙල මෙවරත් අතිඋත්සවාකාරයෙන් 2018 වසරේ අපේල් මස පලමු වනදා පවත්වනු ලැබුවා.මෙම බක්මහ උලලේ පලමු අදියර ලෙස පෙරවරැ කාලයේ අලුත් අවුරැදු කිුඩා සංවිධානය කර තිබුනි.දෙවනි අදියර වු සංකෘතික සංදර්ශණය චිරාගත සම්පුදායානුකුුලව පොල්තෙල් පහන දැල්විමෙන් පසු ආරම්භ විය. සංකෘතික සංදර්ශනය පැමින සිටි අමුත්තන්ගේ මෙන්ම ශිු ලාංකික සහෘද සැමගේම අවදානය සොරාගත් මනස්කාන්ත දර්ශනයන්ගෙන් පිරි ඉතිරි ගොස් තිබුනි. භාරතිය සම්පුදායට අයත් නැටුම් ඛන්ඩයක් ඉංදිය රංගන ශිල්පින් විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරනුලැබූ අතර අයර්ලන්ත සම්පුදායට අයත් නෙත් පිනවන රංගනයක් වෙදිකාව මත දිගඇරෙන්නට විය. මෙලෙස මෙවරත් ජනහඩ පදනම මගින් සංවිධානය කරනුලැබූ බක්මහ උලලේ සංකෘතික සංදර්ශණය මනනන්දනීය අයුරින් වර්ණවත්වුයේ නීතා රෝහිණි රංග කලායතනයේ සිසු සිසුවියන්ගේ නොමද සහයෝගය නිසාවෙනි.
මෙම බක්මහ උළෙලට සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් විසාල පිරිසක් සහබාගී වූ අතර පෙල්තමි සහ හවුන්ස්ලෝ මන්තිු සීමා මල්හෝත්‍රා, හවුන්ස්ලෝ නියෝජ්‍ය නගර සභාපති මල්හෝත්‍රා මහතා,නගර සභික ජග්දිශ් ෂර්මා මහතා ,ලෝඩ් සර්දාර්සිං මහතා සහ වැඩ බලන ශිු ලංකා මහ කොමසාරිස් සූගිස්වර ගුනරත්න මහතා ඇතුලු විසාල පිරිසක් උත්සව සභාව ඇමතුහ. ලංකාවේ සිට පැමිනි ඇන්තනී චාල්ස් සහෝදර තුමාද සභාව අමතමින් විශේෂ දේශනයක් කලහ. සංකෘතික සංදර්ශනයෙන් පසුව පැවතී සංගීත හමාර වුයේ හවස11:30 පමනය.
