SRI LANKAN NIGHT DINNER DANCE NIGHT FOR A GOOD CAUSE

The Sri Lankan Night Dinner & Dance held at the C & L Country Club, Northolt on 26th September 2015 was a tremendous success. The night got underway with a speech by John Kern Hon. President of Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (UK), who gave an introduction of the Sri Lankan Night Dinner Dance committee. He mentioned that a group of friends born in Sri Lanka and living in the United Kingdom ,decided to make a positive contribution to to fledging fund created by Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (UK). A similar event was held in November2014 and proceeds amounting £3309.40p raised on the day was donated to SLLF(UK).

The Sri Lankan Night D/D organizing committee participating in this years event have endorsed that the full proceeds will be donated to SLLF(UK) so that the funds will be utilised to extract the optimum benefit towards the Maharagama Cancer Hospital in Sri Lanka.

The Hon.President of SLLF(UK) went on to say that the Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation(UK) binding policy is that we exclusively donate all our funds from our well wishes to specific project and vital needs identified by the Management of Maharagama Cancer Hospital. He also mentioned that this year alone on July 2015 the Foundation funded four infusion pumps amounting £3600 towards the hospital paediatric ward and after the completion of the new Hospital building there will be vital needs required to be funded and all these can be achieved only if there's sufficient funds available.
He thanked all who participated, well wishes, donors and advertisers and promoters NewLanka, Sesatha SerendibNews, VoiceofLanka and Sri Lanka Food lovers website.

The night was enlightened with surprises competition, auction of twelve bottles of prestige wine, Baila competition and raffle draws. There were many magnanimous donors who helped with donations and raffle gifts with a retrun Air ticket to Sri Lanka by courtesy of Duke's Court Travel and many more fabulous prizes which made this event a success.

The evening featured with a sumptuous Baila dance display by Shynika & Ruwan who were the unanimous winners. The organizing committee of the event Nihal & Subi Perera, Sharmane & Prianke Fernando, Nevomal Fernando, Niranjan Dias, Chandani Pathiranage, Sarojini Amarawansa, and last but least John Kern, Thanked for the music by the band "EXCEED" who entertained the guest with rousing rendition of popular songs and for the Management and staff of C&L Country Club, for providing the guests with a selection of tasty dishes, and for all the guest who participated and contributed to a worthy cause.

At the conclusion of the event the Sri Lankan Night organising committee declared that the amount £3800. was raised on the day, and all proceeds will be donated to Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation(uk) in benefit of Maharagama Cancer Hospital in Sri Lanka.
