A Sangika Dana Pinkama was held at the Sri Saddatissa International Buddhist Centre in Kingsbury, North London, to remember and pass merits to late Parakrama Ranasinghe, former president of the SLFP UK branch.

The Pinkama was organised by his beloved wife Mrs. Manel Ranasinghe and family, their friends and Sri Lanka Freedom Party UK branch members.

It was the 12th death anniversary of Parakrama Ranasinghe, a well loved social worker and a solicitor.

Head of the Vihara Ven. Aggamaha Panditha Galayaye Piyadassi, MBE, Nayaka Thera and all the resident monks, members of Parakrama's family, present President of the SLFP UK branch,Committee members, and many of his close friends attended the mid-day service.

Ven. Piyadassi Nayaka Thera remembered the valuable service Parakrama Ranasinhe has given to the Sri Lankan community in London and also valued the support him and his family has extended to the temple activities.

He thanked Mrs. Manel Ranasinghe and her family for their continuous support and regular attendance of the temple programmes.

Parakrama worked tirelessly to restructure the Sri Lanka Freedom Party UK and Europe branch when the party was in the opposition. During his time as its President, SLFP UK and Europe branch became the most active and successful overseas branch of the party.
