Food Festival at Athula Dassana International Buddhist Vihara

Athula Dassana International Buddhist temple held on their food festival successfully at the Heston Primary School, Heston, TW5 0RL on Saturday 27th of February 2016. This day was special as not only for all Sri Lankans but also other communities. Devotees and other members of the community could remember the past event of food festivals of the last years organised by this vihara under the guidance of the head of the vihara Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero.

The food festival is a celebration of the different tastes of the all community, which supports Sri Lankan traditional foods Ven. Wanduraba kassapa Thero, who explained the aim of food festival as fund raising event. Asha Catering Service, Mrs.Iranganee Samarakoon, Mr.Gayan chandi, Mr.Ajith Perera given excellent support for success the event and they really made the event special with wonderful foods. Mr.Parakum Amarasinghe, Mrs.Anoma Warnakulasooriya, Mr.Anandan were given the great support for success the event.

The Beatz musical band presented a fantastic music during the food festival. And people had a great chance to enjoy the music added to its specialness. We were expected we have a great selection of the traditional Sri Lankan foods. It’s mainly taste of buffet with including traditional Sri Lankan foods and also with other tastes. As well as had a opportunity to buy all of the foods, and drinks. At the last part of festival there was draw the raffles and all were had a chance to entered for it. And the winners could be won the valuable gifts from the vihara.

For the food festival, more than 300 visitors came to taste the Sri Lankan foods. There had a wide range Sri Lankan food. And devotees of the temple and sponsors who were gave a great support. They all are greatly appreciate and success of the event comes from great support from the all devotees.
