https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FirbNWR-iU A 48-year-old man was killed and 24 other people, including UPFA Uva provincial council candidate Sendil Thondaman were injured in an accident in Bandarawela this evening, police said. The victims had been canvassing on foot in the Bandarawela area when Mr.Thondaman’s vehicle had ran them down when the driver accelerated the vehicleapparently by mistake.
The injured were admitted to Diyatalawa Hospital. The driver had run away after the accident and police were on the lookout to apprehend him.
