The SRI LANKAN FOOTBALL ORGANISATION, UK has overcome and successfully jumped yet another hurdle quite satisfactorily by donating essential football equipment to Anuradhapura.
The main priority of our organisation is to encourage youth football in the more rural and remote areas of Sri Lanka. You may be aware from previous news items which appeared, that we have donated football equipment in Polonnaruwa, Jaffna, Badulla, Mannar, to the Saunder’s Football Club and to the Sri Lankan National Team.
In December of last year Mr. Ranjith Katuwana handed over yet another stock of equipment, 15 footballs and 25 pairs of football boots to the Anuradhapura District Football Association Secretary, Mr. Priyantha. The function took place at the Football House in Colombo in the presence of the Sri Lanka Football Federation President, Mr. Anura De Silva, Youth Development Director, Mr. Stanley Stanmore, SLFO UK Sponsorship Secretary, Mr. Asoka Welmillage and other members of staff.
We are ever so thankful and grateful to our supporters as usual, since we would not have accomplished the task of donating valuable football equipment to those in Sri Lanka who need a helping hand, without their kind support. In particular, we would like to thank Duke Court Travels, Mr. ANURADHA MUDALIAGE, our lifelong supporter Mr. Mr Kathirkamathamby Sutharsan, Newslanka Newspapers and everyone else who is supporting this worthy cause.
Our Annual Sports Fiesta will be held on the 5th of June, 2016. We would like to invite all interested football teams, softball teams, cricket teams and junior football teams to participate in our tournament.
