Dharmaraja College OBU (UK Branch) holds its Annual General Meeting for 2018

The Annual General Meeting of the UK Branch of the Dharmaraja College Old Boys’ Union was held at the Rising Sun Pub and Restaurant in Harrow on Saturday the 28^th of April 2018. The event was well attended and reflected the recent success and growth of the organisation. Mr. Manjuka Tennakoon was elected for a third term as the President while an expanded twenty-five-member committee was elected to support the busy calendar of events through the year. Several proposals to change the constitution were adopted to strengthen the governance process of the organisation through a majority vote. In addition to the general report, an in-depth report of the ‘Shaping Lives’ charity run by the DRCOBU (UK Branch) was presented to members. The presentation highlighted how the charity has grown in terms of the funds raised as well as the number of children that are benefiting from it. In light of this growth, the members agreed to set up a separate detailed governance process for the charity to ensure further success. After the AGM, members and their families joined for a meal to celebrate the new committee.
