Bodhi Puja to Bless Ven.Piyadassi Nayaka Thero.

Resident monks and devotees of Sri Saddatissa International Buddhist Centre in North London organised a special Bodhi Puja, on 28th June, 2018, to bless the Head of the Vihara and Chief Sangha Nayaka of Great Britain Most Ven. Aggamahapanditha Galayaye Piyadassi Nayaka Thero on his 71st birthday. Bodhi Puja was conducted by Ven. Viharagala Kusala Thero. Ven. Dr. Handupelpola Mahinda Thero in his Anusasana said " After coming over to England as a Dhammadutha Monk, Ven. Piyadassi Nayaka Thero received all the guidance and helpful advice from Most Ven. Hammalawa Sri Saddatissa Nayaka Thero. Ven. Piyadassi Nayaka Thero's invaluable services to spreading of the Dhamma in the West and attending to the religious, social and cultural requirements of the Sri Lanka community is based on Buddha's advice: "Charatha Bhikkawe Charikan Bahujana Hithaya Bahujana Sukhaya, go forth, Bhikkus, for the good of the many, for the happiness of the many out of compassion for the world." Ven. Nayaka Thero stands out as a monk who has determination, courage, and steadfastness to succeed in whatever task he embarks upon. His legendary hospitality, kindness and enchanting personality is well known. Ven. Piyadassi Nayaka Thero's abode Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre, currently situated in Kingsbury, North London, which he stablished on 3rd September 1989, was named to continue indefinitely the memory of late Most Ven. Hammalawa Sri Saddatissa Nayaka Thero in grateful acknowledgment of his incomparable services to Buddha Sasana. It is a unique place of worship where people feel comfortable and homely with the archetypal Sri Lankan hospitality. " Ven. Mahinda Thero wished the Nayaka Thero good health to continue to serve the Buddha Sasana for a long time to come.
