Kingsbury Buddhist Temple Mourns Passing Away of a Former Incumbent

Venerable Waskaduwe Subodhi Thero, a former incumbent of the Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre, passed away in Sri Lanka recently. He was 93 years old.


A disciple of Most Venerable Balangoda Ananda Maithriya Maha Nayaka Thero, he first came to the UK to serve in the Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre conducting meditation classes. Subsequently, he served in several Buddhist Temples in this country, as well as in Italy and Germany.


Aggamahapandita Ven. Galayaye Piyadassi Nayaka Thero and the resident monks together with the devotees organised a Dana at the SSIBC on the 7th day of the passing away, on Tuesday 13th March 2018. After the transfer of merit ceremony, the Atapirikara was also offered.
