Ranaviru Real Star final

පෙරේදා (27 දා) රාත්‍රි සුගතදාස ගෘහස්‌ථ ක්‍රීඩාංගණ ක්‍රීඩාගාරයේදී අති උත්කර්ෂවත් අයුරින් පැවති, "රණවිරු රියල් ස්‌ටාර්" තුන් වැනි අදියරේ අවසන් මහා තරගයෙන්, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ නායක ගුවන් කාන්තා තුෂානි පෙරේරා කිරුළ දිනා ගත්තාය.

යුද හමුදා ලාන්ස්‌ කෝප්‍රල්වරුන් වන නදිත් සාරංග සහ චමින්ද කුමාර රාජපක්‍ෂ පිළිවෙලින් දෙවැනි හා තුන් වැනි ස්‌ථාන දිනා ගත්හ.

යුද හමුදා කෝප්‍රල් මනෝඡ් ප්‍රසන්නට සිව් වැනි ස්‌ථානය ද නාවික හමුදා බල වාදක ධනුක රණසිංහට පස්‌වැනි ස්‌ථානය ද හිමි විය.

ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවති මෙම අවසන් මහ තරගයෙන් ජයග්‍රහණය කළ තුෂානි පෙරේරාට හිමි ත්‍යාගය ජනාධිපති ආර්යා ශිරන්ති රාජපක්ෂ මහත්මිය අතින් පිරිනැමිණ.

The grand finale of the world's only reality TV show of Armed Forces, "Ranaviru Real Star - III" was staged at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 27th July evening. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa accompanied by the First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The widely popular "Ranaviru Real Star" is a brain child of the Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa which is aimed at the bringing out the hidden musical talents of war heroes. The Mission 1 and 11 which were staged earlier proved to be one of the most popular reality shows in the country and this one proved to be even more popular among the viewers.

Five contestants, four servicemen and one servicewoman were selected for the grand finale. Three from Sri Lanka Army and each from Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force competed in two rounds demonstrating their talents at the final show.

The panels of judges were comprised of renowned personalities involved in the local music field namely, Visharada Edward Jayakody, Jakson Anthony and Yashoda Wimaladarma who contributed 60 percent in selecting of winners. The rest 40 percent was allowed public to decide upon their SMS. Over 8.3 million SMSs poured in as it showed in the projection screens showed the popularity of the show among the masses.

The only female figure Leading Aircraftwoman Thushani Perera of Sri Lanka Air force won the trophy for the first place facing stiff competition from the other four competitors. She was presented the keys to a brand new luxury house valued at Rs. 20 million by the First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The second placed contestant Lance Corporal Nadish Saranga of the Sri Lanka Army and was presented with the key of a gleaming brand new Toyota "Yaris" car worth of Rs. 6.7 million, sponsored by Toyota Lanka. He also received Rs. 1 million in cash and a trophy.

The third and fourth places went to the Corporal Chaminda Kumara and Lance Corporal Manoj Prasanna of Sri Lanka Army respectively and the fifth place was secured by Able Musician Danuka Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka Navy. They were also awarded with valuable cash prizes, LED (HD) T.V sets, Dialog Satellite Connections and trophies.

Maj. Saliya Jayawardene was awarded a special gift for his outstanding performance by First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa. Moreover, competitors who secured positions from 6th place to 36th place were also awarded special prizes by the service Commanders.

Dialog Axiata, the mobile phone company sponsored the entire programme while telecasting of the series was facilitated by the national TV station, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC). The Grand Finale was aired live on SLRC.
