SLYO - UK Feeds the Homeless

Sri Lankan Youth Organization (SLYO) is an established charity in America which has now expanded across oceans to London.On Wednesday 18th September the group held its first event, which was a charity drive to feed those who are homeless around Central-London.It was a very successful event with food packages given to over 20 people including other necessities such as clothing. For most members it was a new experience, but a rewarding one, having seen the smiles from the less fortunate. SLYO-UK is made up of young Sri Lankan individuals and aim to attract the Sri Lankan youth of today to make a positive impact on our community as well as raising money for those people in Sri Lanka who need it most.

Unlike other organisations, we take a more hands-on approach, in the sense that the contributions we make from the money we have raised goes directly towards making a difference. A key aspect of our organisation is that it encourages the unity of the Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim communities in order to make a positive impact. We look to aspire the British-Sri Lankan youth of today to reconnect with our cultural roots and remind them of our legacy and our heritage.
