Visharada Nanda Malini, Vicotor Rathnayaka & crew warmly welcomed

Visharada Nanda Malini, Dr. VicotorRathnayaka and the crew were warmly welcomed by the Gee Ama main organiser Mr Prasad along with the organisation team members of Art Lanka UK at the Heathrow Airport London on 25th June 2013. It was a delightful evening as they were pleasingly welcomed by Mrs ShanikaWeerasinghe, Mr Prasad Orland, Mr PriyaVijayaFonseka, MrsPremaGanegodawith a shower of the Sri Lankans in a very splendid aspect. Along with VicotorRathnayaka& Nanda Malini there came Suresh Maliyadde (Music Director), MahendraPasquel, RukshanGunawardana, NiamlKalubowila, PriyanthaDissanayaka who will be backing up theconcert on 30th June 2013 at Logan Hall, 20 Bedford Way, London, WC1H 0AL.

Nanda Malini born with an unmatchable deep voice, turning a new chapter in Sri Lankan female classical music context and undoubtedly the most talented Sri Lankan female singer who is often compared with country's most respected singer PandithAmaradewa. She has gained her praise and popularity and won her 11 Sarasaviya Award. In 1973 she started her first solo concert and after Having 530 shows, the series ended on May 22, 1979. She held 500 shows till August 198. After 22 years her newest solo musical concert titled ‘ShwethaRathriya’ hold with collaboration with Sirasa FM in 2010. Just before her trip to England she performed in Manitoba, Canada on 15th July, Vancouver on the 16th July, Toronto on 22nd July, and Montreal on 23rd July 2013.

Victor Rathnayaka who owns a monumental voice attended the State Music College in 1963. In 1966, joined the Ministry of Education as a music instructor, and was assigned to a post at EththalapitiyaMahaVidyalaya in Bandarawela. After 39 years of success in Sri Lanka and in many other countries, Victor finally ended the concert on July 20, 2012 at the Lumbinitheater where it started with the 1450 the concert. His latest album 'Nil KanduYaaya' was released in 2012 February.

The main organiser Mr Prasad Orlando , Mr PriyaViyajaFonseka , Mrs PremaGanegoda,and the other members of the Art Lanka UK have orchestrate this event in aid of association for medical aid to Sri Lanka . Gee Ama is an Oriental musical show which will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives with wonderful memories. This will be a very delightful historical evening, victor Rathanyaka& Nanda Malinisince they will be performing on stage together for the 3rd time in in their lives. This will be the first event in the UK which an orchestra will be played with a combination of players visiting from Sri Lanka and local players in the UK with a total of 14 members.
