Rs 100000 worth of educational and musical equipment were donated to the Children with special educational needs and disabilities attending Subodhya Vidyalaya by the London based Birthday Fund Charity. The main contributors were Miss Sara Hettiarachchi and family.
On this special day BFC representatives were welcomed by a wonderful reception organised by students and teachers of the school. The children showcased their talents in moving performances, bringing the audience to tears.
The principal was in support of the reception performance as a token of their appreciation and in acceptance of BFC's donations whilst additionally instilling the value of the donation to the children.
Speaking on behalf of BFC, Mr Jayantha Herath, gave a poignant message emphasising the value of education in helping overcome life's challenges and struggles.
Further speeches were given by students and teachers of the school.
Concluding the event, special instruction on how to look after the donated equipment was explained to staff as they were handed over to Subhodya Vidyalaya School.
A special gratitude goes to Mr Jayantha Herath for representing BFC and the contributors to the Birthday fund, whose invaluable support has helped further the charities' missions with success.

වසන්ත හේරත් - මොණරාගල සිට
මොණරාගල සුභාග්‍යා විද්‍යාලයේ විශේෂ අධ්‍යාපනික අවශ්‍යතා ඇති දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් පසුගිය දා රුපියල් ලක්ෂයක් වටිනා අධ්‍යාපනික සංගීත හා ක‍්‍රීඩා උපකරණ රැුසක් උපන්දින අරමුදල මගින් පරිත්‍යාග කරන්නට යෙදුනා. මෙම පරිත්‍යාගය වෙනුවෙන් මූල්‍ය ප‍්‍රදානය කරනු ලැබුවේ සාරා හෙට්ටිආරච්චි දියණිය ඇතුලූ පවුලේ සැම විසිනි.
එදින පාසැලේ දරුවන් විසින් පැමිණ සිටි අරමුදලේ සාමාජිකයින් වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂ උත්සවයක් සංවිධානය කර තිබුණේ එම පරිත්‍යාගයෙහි වටිනාකම දරුවන් හා ගුරුවරුන් අවබෝධ කරගත යුතු නිසා බවයි විදුහල්පතිවරයා පැවසුවේ.
පරිත්‍යාගයන් වෙනුවෙන් උපන්දින අරමුදලට හා පරිත්‍යාගශීලීන්ට දරුවන්ගේ සහ ඇදුරු මඩුල්ලේ ස්තුතිය පිරිනැමුණු අතර උපන්දින අරමුදල වෙනුවෙන් එහි සභාපතිවරයා විසින් දරුවන් හා ගුරුවරාන් අමතා කළ කතාවේ දී සියලූ බාධක මැඩගෙන ඉදිරිය දැකීමට නම් ඉගෙනීමෙන් ලොව දිනිය යුතු බව ද ඒ සඳහා ධෛර්ය සම්පන්නව කටයුතු කරන්නැයි ද සියලූම දරුවන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.
පැය කිහිපයක් පැවති උත්සවයේ දී අහිංසක දරුපැටවුන් විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කළ විවිධ කුසලතා දැකීමෙන් අමුත්තන්ගේ දෑස් කඳුලින් තෙත් වනු දැකීම එම අවස්ථාව කෙතරම් සංවේදී ද යන්න ඉතා පැහැදිලි වූ අවස්ථාවක් බව සැමට කියා පෑවේය.
අවසානයේ දී දරුවන් වෙත සියලූ භාණ්ඩ භාර දී ඒ සඳහා පාසැල් භාණ්ඩ ලැයිස්තුවේ සටහන් හා ආරක්ෂිතව පවත්වාගෙන යාමට අවශ්‍ය උපදෙස් ද ලබා දීමෙන් අනතුරුව තවත් උසස් ගණයේ සාර්ථක සමාජ සත්කාරයක නිමාව දුටුවේ තවත් එවැනි අවස්ථා ඉදිරියේ දී ඔබ වෙත ලබා දීමට සිත්හි සටහන් කර ගනිමින්.
