His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, President visited the Sari Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre on Wednesday 18th April 2018 to meet Aggamahapandita Ven. Galayaye Piydassi Sangha Nayaka Thero. The President had visited the Kingsbury Temple previously in 2008, when he was a Minister, and also addressed the gathering at the Sri Lanka Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebrations, organised by the temple at the Harrow Leisure Centre. The President was accompanied by Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, H.E. Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, Acting High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Mr. Asela Iddawela, Director, President's Task Force on Kidney Disease Prevention and Mr Sarath Kongahage, former Member of Parliament and Diplomat, presently Chairman of the Sri Lanka Foundation an adviser to the President. Ven. Piyadassi Nayaka Thero thanked the President and the party for visiting the temple and wished them, the government and the people of Sri Lanka good luck for the New Year.
