It is with great pleasure we announce the 15th annual cricket encounter between the old boys of Holy Cross College (Kalutara) and Maris Stella College (Negombo) in the UK. It first started in the summer of 2002 as a result of great enthusiasm and dedication of the senior old boys of both schools paralleling the famous "Battle of the Lagoons" annual big match between the two schools in Sri Lanka. Over the last 14 years, the cricket encounter thrived into a great get-together for the old boys and for their families.
We mark the 15th anniversary of the UK big match as the old boys of the mother schools in Sri Lanka plan to revive the Battle of the Lagoons after a lapse of 22 years. On this occasion, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the members and players of both OBA’s and to the others who contributed in many ways to make this event a success.
The event will be held on the 17th of September 2017 at Stanmore Cricket grounds, Stanmore Hill, Middlesex H47 4LB from 10.30 am onwards. The attractions include 20/20 Cricket, Football encounter, kids' activities, live music and a Sri Lankan style buffet dinner. We, on behalf of the members of both OBA’s, invite all past alumni and members of both OBA's and their families to attend this great event and support our OBA’s.
