PRESS RELEASE - FOUNDER’s DAY – 20th March 2016

The Wesley College Old Boys’ Union UK initiated a new annual event this year.

It was the indefatigable energy and commitment of the founding fathers, motivated by a profound ethos of service that gave birth to Wesley College, Colombo in March 1874.

On Palm Sunday the 20th of March, the WCOBU {UK} took part in a solemn yet joyful service conducted by Rev Dr. Jennifer Smith at the Ealing Green Methodist Church in West London. The motivation was to honour the memory and the Methodist endowment from our founding fathers.

The members of the WCOBU {UK} were delighted to be joined by the president and several other lady members of the Past Pupils Association of Methodist College Colombo – the sister School of Wesley College in Sri Lanka.

The service was followed by an informal lunch.

The event was a fitting occasion to renew our resolve to help our school to write even better lines in the ever evolving story and legend that Wesley contributes to the advance of education in Sri Lanka.
