The Southlands College Alumni UK brought the Sri Lankan community together for “සවුත්ලන්ඩ්ස් පැදුර 2026”, held on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Stopsley, Luton.
Held from 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm, the event celebrated Sri Lankan culture, music, dance and community spirit, offering alumni, families and friends an opportunity to reconnect and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and fellowship.
The programme featured a line-up of talented singers and entertainers, alongside traditional Sri Lankan dance performances that added colour and vibrancy to the occasion. The combination of music, cultural performances and entertainment created an enjoyable atmosphere for guests of all ages.
Food was also an important part of the celebration, with guests able to enjoy a variety of Sri Lankan favourites. The event brought together the familiar tastes, sounds and traditions that continue to connect Sri Lankans living in the United Kingdom with their cultural roots.
The event also received warm support from members of other Galle schools, who joined the celebration in solidarity with Southlands College. Their presence highlighted the strong bonds shared among Galle’s school communities and demonstrated the spirit of friendship, unity and mutual support among Sri Lankan alumni in the UK.
Beyond the entertainment, “සවුත්ලන්ඩ්ස් පැදුර 2026” highlighted the valuable role of the Southlands College Alumni UK in bringing people together and preserving Sri Lankan traditions within the diaspora. Such gatherings provide an opportunity for different generations to share their heritage, build friendships and strengthen community connections.
With its blend of music, dance, food and fellowship, “සවුත්ලන්ඩ්ස් පැදුර 2026” celebrated the richness of Sri Lankan culture and the enduring bonds that unite the Sri Lankan community in the UK.
