The first result of the 2015 Presidential Election was announced by the Department of Elections a short while ago, with the release of postal vote results of the Ratnapura District.

UPFA Presidential Candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa has received the highest with 11,864 postal votes (56.6%) while Common Candidate Maithripala Sirisena comes a close second polling 9,053 postal votes (43.2%) in the district.
