Officials say Hambantota airport and harbour have seen “significant growth”

The chairmen of Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Airports and Aviation Services Sri Lanka say there has been significant growth at the Hambantota harbour and airport.

They made these remarks at separate events held on on July 31.

Project Minister of Ports Highways and Shipping, Rohitha Abeygunawardane, declared open the new kitchen and Fire and Rescue Unit at the Colombo Harbour on August 1, where he made the following statement:

 

Government in the past used other tools to maintain government, but today, as the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, we can be proud to say that we have a revenue and are profitable after paying off foreign loans. No matter what criticisms are levelled, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority has embarked on this journey.
