“Like any other charity, our primary objective is to help those less fortunate than ourselves.Whilst providing support for children and their families to offer some form of relief, this is rathershort-lived. Instead, we seek to help these children establish their long-term future, by providing them with the resources and means necessary to create their own opportunities and to prosper.”

Birthday Fund Charity

What is Birthday Fund Charity?
It is a newly formed charity based in the UK to support talented children in under-privileged families in Sri Lanka.

Background and Our Objective?
Sri Lanka is yet a developing country. After a 30 years of war, now it’s emerging economically in the south-east Asia. Though the government is spending enough on development projects to support the economy, yet it is a dream for many to have even a basic life, as they have no proper income. Agriculture is the main source of income for those in villages. One time droughts and another time floods are also making it harder for them to live a life with the minimum basic needs. Families in mostf the rural areas are comparatively poorer than in urban areas. They receive less facilities from the government sources as well as they are not even seeing some of the common resources such as clean water, good libraries, internet facilities, etc. We have identified some talented children in those families who can perform much better if those families are financially stable. We believe if the family is given support to make their own living, it helps them educate their children on their own, rather than donating money for the child’s use every month

Birthday - Everyone has it.
On your birthday, now you can join this worthy cause. We just request you to donate an amount of £10 or as much as you can give, on your birthday for these good causes. That’s only once a year. We have set out a system to identify talented children in poorer socio-economic backgrounds through the school head teachers. From the donations we receive, we create a source of income, mostly with a self-employment strategy for those families. We have also set out a monitoring system to oversee how those families continue their selected projects as well as the outcome of children’s education. Every three months, we update you with all the important information about our funds and projects carried out in the form of a newsletter.

How to make a donation?
• Make a donation of £10 or any amout as you can afford to give on your birthday.
• Set up a standing order of £1 or any amount every month to our bank account.
