High Commissioner Rohitha Bogollagama meets the Irish Ambassador in London

High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom Rohitha Bogollagama met with Ambassador of Ireland to the UK Martin Fraser on 4 June 2024 at the Embassy of Ireland in London.
At the outset, High Commissioner Bogollagama outlined the close bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Ireland encompassing political, economic, educational ties and people to people contacts. The discussions focused on the process of his accreditation to Ireland as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary pursuant to the presentation of credentials to His Majesty King Charles III recently.
High Commissioner Bogollagama envisaged robust relations with Ireland, with specific focus on enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries and connecting with the Sri Lankan community in Ireland. The High Commissioner and the Irish Ambassador discussed an array of topics of mutual interest which include contemporary international relations and Sri Lanka’s economic stabilisation under the leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The two envoys agreed to work towards increasing exchange of high level visits between Sri Lanka and Ireland.
