The NASS Summer Classic Netball Tournament 2026 officially came to life with a vibrant opening ceremony, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration of talent, teamwork, and the enduring spirit of Sri Lankan netball in the UK. Bringing together 34 teams, the tournament showcased exceptional competition across three divisions: Women's Open, Women's Under-25, and the inaugural Men's Netball Championship.
The introduction of the Men's Netball Championship marked a historic milestone for NASS. In an exciting Grand Final, United faced SPM Brotherhood in a fiercely contested match. Demonstrating outstanding determination and teamwork, SPM Brotherhood emerged as the inaugural champions with a well-earned 9–7 victory, creating a memorable chapter in NASS history.
The Women's Under-25 Grand Final delivered one of the most thrilling encounters of the tournament as Jaffna Hindu Ladies' College Old Girls battled Eagles Old Girls. In a nail-biting finish, Jaffna Hindu Ladies' College Old Girls held their nerve to secure a narrow 10–9 victory, lifting the Under-25 championship trophy.
The Women's Open Grand Final showcased netball at its very best. Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya Old Girls met Methodist Point Pedro Old Girls in a highly competitive contest that reflected the quality and passion displayed throughout the tournament. With disciplined defence and composed finishing, Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya Old Girls claimed the championship with a deserved 10–7 win, crowning them NASS Summer Classic Women's Open Champions.
The tournament also celebrated outstanding individual performances through the Women's Open Special Awards.
The tournament's highest individual honour, the NASS Summer Classic Netball Queen 2026 – Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, was proudly awarded to Ms Shani (GD, Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya Old Girls) in recognition of her exceptional performances, leadership, and outstanding contribution throughout the competition.
Hosted at the outstanding sporting facilities of The Royal Masonic School, Rickmansworth Park, the tournament was proudly organised by the Sri Lankan Schools Netball Association UK (NASS UK).
As NASS UK, we are immensely proud to have delivered a tournament that not only showcased high-quality netball but also strengthened friendships, celebrated our shared Sri Lankan heritage, and inspired the next generation of players.
