The Health Ministry in Sri Lanka today announced quarantine measures for travellers arriving to Sri Lanka from overseas during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new quarantine measures have been introduced for Sri Lankan citizens/ dual citizens, foreign nationals, and tourists arriving from overseas. It also includes instructions for vaccinated and non- vaccinated travellers arriving to Sri Lanka.
As per the new guidelines, if a traveller have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, they will be placed under quarantine after undergoing a PCR test within 24 hours and will be allowed to leave soon after a negative PCR test.
Those who have only received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will require to undergo 07 days quarantine at the hotel and another 07 days at home.
However, those undergoing quarantine at Government run quarantine centres, will be required to follow 10 days quarantine at the centre and four days home quarantine.
