The Emerald Ball Celebrates 160 Years of Methodist College in Style

The Methodist College Past Pupils Charitable Association UK successfully hosted The Emerald Ball on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, bringing together members of the Sri Lankan community for a memorable evening celebrating 160 years of Methodist College, Sri Lanka.

The elegant evening featured an exclusive performance by the renowned De Lanerolle Brothers, alongside music by SOLID, offering guests an enjoyable celebration of music, fine dining and dancing.

A special congratulations goes to Dakshini Abeyewardene and the entire organising committee for their dedication, commitment and hard work in bringing this wonderful event together. Their efforts helped create a memorable celebration while strengthening the bonds among Methodist College past pupils and the wider Sri Lankan community in the UK.

Beyond the celebrations, the event carried an important charitable purpose, raising funds in support of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Unit at Methodist College, Sri Lanka. This initiative reflects the association's continued commitment to giving back to the school and supporting meaningful educational opportunities for children with additional needs.

Congratulations once again to Dakshini Abeyewardene, the committee, performers, sponsors and everyone who contributed to making The Emerald Ball a success.

A wonderful celebration of 160 years of heritage, friendship and giving back to the community!
