St. Sebastian’s College OBA Silver Jubilee Dinner Dance on 14th October 2017

St Sebastian’s College OBA Silver Jubilee Dinner Dance was held on the 14th of October at Thistle Heathrow Hotel and it was attended by more than 200 guests. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. and Mrs. Frank Silva an old boy himself, who has achieved great heights in the UK. The Guest of Honour was Mrs. Charmain Obeysekara.

The ceremony started with a prayer by Rev Fr Lylie Fernando, welcome speech by Mr. Flavian Aponso, President OBA UK and an inspiring speech by the chief guest.

The OBA UK arm was instrumental in helping the college to acquire a BOLA bowling machine for Cricket, Sports Goods more than £3000 in 2014, cash donations for the building projects and Scholarships for Academic Achievers. The funds raised by this event too will go towards the college development fund.

The raffle draw was held at the event with 1st prize being a return ticket to Sri Lanka courtesy Mr. Thevarajah of Carlton and Leisure and 5 nights stay at Theme Resorts for 2 persons, courtesy of Mr. Wickramasinghe. 2nd Prize, Night stay all-inclusive, at Governor’s Mansion for 2 person courtesy of Dr. Frank Silva. 3rd Prize Dinner for two at Grange Hotel London courtesy of Mr. Azhar.

The music for the dance was provided by Sky High, DJ AZI, and DJ HASH. The event was catered by Mr. Ajith Don of Choice of Taste catering who provided a scrumptious dinner.

The OBA would like to extend their unreserved gratitude to the main sponsor Mr. Tony De Mel of TDM International Ltd and the souvenir sponsors who had helped to make this event a grand success.
