"Sath Saranee" Musical Evening with Thilak Bulathwela

Prompted by the enthusiasm and immense love he had for singing, acting and performing arts former child star in the Sinhala Cinema, Thilak Bulathwela organised a solo performance in London.

It was held on the 8th November at All Saints Parish Hall in Queensbury where he sang many popular old melodies taking the audience back to the carefree times of the bygone era.

The music was provided by Dhammika Thusitha Kumara backed up Vimarsha Jayasinghe, Tyronne Liyanage, Deshapriya Viswajith, Sanajaya Fernando and Nanda Sandagiri.

Suneetha Perera and Lasanthi Bamunarachchi joined Thilk to sing many of the very popular duets.

Chandana Fonseka and Sisira Attanayake also performed. A young saxophonist Lakshith Bamunarachi presented a solo performances.

Sisira Gunawardana compered the show.

Thilak Pushpakumara was the screen name of Thilak Bulathwelage who was a child actor in the 1960s. Along with giants of the Sinhala Cinema Rukmanee Devi, Gamini Fonseka, Senadheera Kuruppu, Robin Fernando and Suweneetha Weerasinghe Thilak appeared in several child roles in films like Adata wediya heta hondai, Mangalika, Sujage Rahasa and Sudo sudu.

Recently he appeared in a cameo role in the Sinhala Teledrama " Chess" which was filmed partly in London.
