World's 'tallest man' dies at aged 44

Leonid Stadnyk a peasant farmer, from the Ukrainian village of Podoliantsy,who was said to be too shy to measured for the Guinness World Record Book but was 21 inches taller than lanky England footballer Peter Crouch.

His height became abnormal when he was aged 14, and a benign tumour in his brain caused a gland to continually secrete growth hormones - meaning he never stopped growing died on 24th Saturday from a brain haemorrhage after health problems.
