“Pahim Path Mangalyaya” is a Sinhalese term referring to a stage performance that a dance student undertakes after years of rigorous training. Similar to the Arangetram in Bharata Natyam, this event serves as an opportunity for Kandyan dance students to showcase their talent to their parents, teachers, friends, and well-wishers. It is a rite of passage for young dancers, marking their debut performance and symbolizing their transition into becoming tradition bearers who will carry and teach this rich heritage to the next generation.
