474 dismissals and 13050 runs for Sangakkara

Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara became only the fourth batsman to score 13000 runs in One-Day Internationals. He achieved this during the ongoing third ODI against England at Hambantotta. Sangakkara, now joins the exclusive league of legendary batsmen India’s Sachin Tendulkar, Australia’s Ricky Ponting and his countrymen Sanath Jayasuriya.

Sangakkara, who is likely to retire after the 2015 Cricket World Cup is the third fastest to reach the landmark and only Jayasuriya is behind him. Sangakkara took 363 innings whereas Sachin and Ponting achieved the same in 321 and 341 innings respectively.

Sangakkara came into the match with 13 runs short of the milestone has an outstanding record of 13000+ runs in 363 innings with an average of 40.08 in ODIs. Here is the list of batsmen who had scored 13000 ODI runs.
