The inaugural Battle of the Queenz 2026 concluded in spectacular fashion on
21 June 2026 at Amersham Cricket Club, bringing together sixteen
outstanding women's teams representing leading Sri Lankan schools and alumni associations across the UK.
The tournament celebrated friendship, sportsmanship, and the growing strength of women's cricket within
the Sri Lankan community.
Following an exciting day of competitive cricket, Devi Balika PPA UK emerged as the
inaugural champions after defeating Visakha Vidyalaya Team A by 18 runs
in a well-contested final.
Batting first, Devi Balika posted 69 without loss, thanks to an excellent unbeaten
51 from Ruwani Karandana. In reply, Visakha Vidyalaya finished on
47/2, handing Devi Balika a memorable victory and the first-ever Battle of the Queenz title.

creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the day. Beyond the competition, Battle of the Queenz 2026
successfully celebrated the enduring bonds between Sri Lankan schools while promoting women's cricket
in the UK.
Congratulations to Devi Balika PPA UK on becoming the inaugural
Battle of the Queenz Champions, and to every participating team for making the
tournament a memorable success. The enthusiasm and standard of cricket displayed throughout the
competition have set a strong foundation for what promises to become one of the premier women's
