Rhythm of Galle 2026 – A Remarkable Night of Unity, Friendship and Giving Back

07 May, 2026
The much-anticipated Rhythm of Galle – Charity Dinner Dance, organised by One Galle – Alumni of Galle Schools in the UK, was held successfully on 25th April 2026 at the prestigious Radisson RED Hotel London Heathrow, bringing together past pupils, families, friends, and well-wishers for an unforgettable evening of celebration, camaraderie, and purpose.

The spectacular event welcomed more than 450 guests, making it one of the largest and most successful gatherings of the Galle alumni community in the UK to date. The ballroom came alive with elegance, warmth, laughter, and cherished reunions as attendees from different generations and schools gathered under one roof in support of a meaningful cause.

Rhythm of Galle was proudly organised through the united efforts of alumni representing eight leading schools from Galle:
- Mahinda College
- Richmond College
- Rippon Girls’ College
- Sacred Heart Convent Galle
- Sanghamitta Girls’ College
- Southlands College
- St. Aloysius’ College Galle
- Vidyaloka College Galle

The evening stood as a true testament to the strength of unity and friendship among the Galle community living in the UK.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional night filled with live entertainment, dancing, reconnecting with old friends, and celebrating the rich heritage and spirit of Galle. The atmosphere throughout the night reflected not only joy and nostalgia, but also a shared commitment to helping those in need back home in Sri Lanka.

Most importantly, the event achieved a groundbreaking fundraising milestone in support of Sri Lanka’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following the recent cyclone disaster. The generosity shown by attendees, donors, sponsors, and supporters demonstrated the incredible compassion and dedication of the community towards making a positive impact.

Special congratulations and heartfelt appreciation must be extended to Chamapa Ramanayake and the entire organising committee for their tireless hard work, leadership, dedication, and vision in delivering such a successful and memorable event. Their months of planning and commitment were clearly reflected in every detail of the evening.

The success of Rhythm of Galle has not only raised significant funds for an important humanitarian cause, but has also strengthened the bonds among the Galle alumni community in the UK, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

As the music faded and the evening came to a close, one thing was certain — the spirit of Galle remains stronger than ever, united through friendship, generosity, and pride in giving back.
