Sapphire 2026: A Night of Elegance, Energy, and Unforgettable Memories

The 29th edition of Sapphire 2026 lived up to its legacy, delivering a spectacular evening that blended culture, music, and celebration in true Sri Lankan style. Hosted by the Imperial College London Sri Lankan Society, the event once again proved why it remains one of Europe’s most anticipated Sri Lankan social gatherings.

Held at the iconic Hilton London Metropole, the venue welcomed over 1,000 guests dressed in stunning black-tie and cultural attire, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and lively. From the moment doors opened, excitement filled the air, with friends reuniting, new connections forming, and a shared anticipation for the night ahead.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the electrifying performances by Sri Lanka’s music icons. Bathiya and Santhush delivered a high-energy set packed with nostalgic hits and crowd favorites, keeping the dance floor alive throughout the night. They were joined by Sanka Edirisinghe and Arjun, whose performances added a contemporary international flair, while DJ Ashen Fer kept the momentum going with a seamless mix of tracks that had everyone on their feet.

Adding cultural richness to the evening were the stunning Kandyan and Bharatanatyam dance performances. Their artistry brought traditional Sri Lankan and South Asian heritage to life, offering a beautiful contrast to the modern musical acts and reminding attendees of the cultural roots that make Sapphire so special.

Guests were also treated to an authentic and flavorful buffet by Rantharu Caterers, praised for its quality and variety, from rich curries to classic Sri Lankan favorites, perfectly complementing the night’s festivities.

Beyond performances and fine dining, Sapphire 2026 stood out for its lively yet sophisticated atmosphere. It was more than just an event; it was a reunion, a cultural showcase, and a shared experience that brought together the Sri Lankan community and friends in the UK. As the night came to a close, one thing was clear: Sapphire continues to raise the bar year after year. With seamless organization, world-class entertainment, and a vibrant crowd, the 2026 edition reinforced its reputation as the premier Sri Lankan dinner dance in Europe, leaving attendees with memories to cherish until the next edition.

Congratulations to Hiruka De Costa, Levon Niyarepola, and the Co-Presidents and committee for putting together such a spectacular show.
