The excitement is building for the highly anticipated Festival of Rugby 2026, as the official match draw took place on 4th May 2026 ahead of the tournament scheduled for 24th May 2026 at the Fullerians Rugby Club in Watford. The draw brought together participating schools, organisers, supporters, and rugby enthusiasts, setting the stage for what promises to be one of the biggest Sri Lankan school rugby festivals in the UK this year.

Organised under the banner of FOR – Festival of Rugby, the tournament will showcase some of the most recognised rugby-playing schools from Sri Lanka, featuring both men’s and women’s categories. Schools including Trinity, Royal, Isipathana, St. Peter’s, Wesley, Dharmaraja, Zahira, Ananda, St. Joseph’s, Prince of Wales, Mahanama and many others were placed into their respective groups during the draw ceremony.

The women’s tournament will also add excitement to the festival, with leading girls’ schools such as Mahamaya Girls’ College, Visakha Vidyalaya, Musaeus College, Ananda Balika, Holy Family Convent and others set to compete.

The official group allocations generated significant anticipation among players and supporters alike, with several strong matchups expected during the group stages. Rugby fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing competitive games, school spirit, and the camaraderie that has always been associated with Sri Lankan school rugby culture.

Festival of Rugby 2026 will take place on Sunday, 24th May 2026 from 9:00 AM onwards at the Fullerians Rugby Football Club. The event is expected to attract a large crowd from across the Sri Lankan community in the UK, celebrating not only rugby but also unity, friendship, and tradition.
